Planning a FOCUS to WebFOCUS Conversion

Thinking of implementing a Web-based solution that integrates your existing legacy resources? This course discusses the challenges of converting a character-based legacy FOCUS application to WebFOCUS. You will perform a hands-on conversion of a sample FOCUS application with a CRTFORM menu and FOCEXECs to a Web-based structured ad hoc application.

You Will Learn How To:

Examine the five phases of a migration plan, especially planning and analysis
Import files from legacy applications into WebFOCUS
Employ WebFOCUS conversion techniques, including drill-down reports and working with graphs
Publish reports as customized launch pages on the Web
Enhance reports with StyleSheets and JavaScript
Integrate FOCEXECs with HTML for structured ad hoc deployment

Experienced FOCUS users and developers who will be involved in moving a FOCUS application to WebFOCUS.

Prerequisite:
Courses 125, Dialogue Manager
Course 126, Intermediate Reporting
or
equivalent FOCUS experience. Working knowledge of MS Windows or NT.
